The Pink Pasty (blog) & youtube channel started in 2007 due to refusal of Devon & Cornwall Constabulary to address our experience & knowledge of police dishonesty, corruption & homophobia in the Cornwall (UK) police force.
They say Canada and the US are free, but that’s not always true. Thinking about if I tried to do this kind of art, I’d be questioned until my voice was gone. I’d be given funny looks like a chainsaw in a library. Chances are, I’d be heckled by some guys, and beat up if I opened my mouth.

I’ll probably go with ineffectual IPCC & police corruption, dishonesty & homophobia since I have so much 1st hand experience & documentation on it.
Great work, and for those with round bellies who are complaining you really need to get over this. Who you choose as a subject is simply that. I personally go for whoever really catches my eye, and until the day a round belly is all that consumes my work, i will continue with my preference, and so should he.
If Felix was in Cornwall (UK) he would find himself relentlessly persicuted by the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary who are deeply homophobic…as have other gay artists & individuals at the hands of thie corrupt & dishonest Devon & Cornwall police force. Cornwall Police ARE the HOMOPHOBIC HATE CRIME problem!
@JCJasion Not saying anything about the art or the male body, but what makes you think that guys with “round bellies and thicker figures” offer any more diversity in experience or their personal stories, hm? A thin, fit guy can have a life full of experiences too. There is also a lot of diversity between them. You’re the narrow minded one, if you believe what you said. Having seen both the adonist type and the old obese naked male, I have to say I know which one I’d pay money for, and time looking at lol. I thought of joining a naturist group once, then I saw them in all their glory, and I have to say, for most of us, the human form is not a pretty sight lol.

I agree – This is body fascism, pure and simple. There are all kinds of male body types and those of us with round bellies and thicker figures have much more diverse and interesting stories to tell than the narrowly focused segment of the male population with ferret-physiques.
At the end of the day, my issue is with societal standards of male beauty rather than d’Eon’s perhaps unintended perpetuation of (through conformity to) these seemingly unattainable ideals.
Fair enough. I’d probably feel the same way as d’Eon if I was an artist (but, for the moment, I just study art as a grad student). I mean, it must be a great excuse to get hot guys naked while honing your skills.
Perhaps I’m just bitter because I’m a relatively healthy, gay twenty-something who wouldn’t quite fit in with most of the hunky Adonis figures d’Eon is pumping out. (And I’m assuming that most men (gay or straight) feel similarly left out of the picture, so to speak).

Respectfully, one cannot foist “diversity” and “political correctness” on an artist’s inspiration. It’s not a sin to be enthralled by a particular type. Your critique is as unfair as saying “He is a male artist. He should only be inspired by females.”

Seeing as Felix has barely scrapped out of his 20′s himself it is quite understandable that he is likely to be surrounded by young fit &horny gay men & not drawing fat chubby old fossils like me, lol.
If you don’t like it … simple soloution…go draw your own, lol
I made a video of the Art of Douglas Simonson, whose male nude art is more ethnic…it was flagged & removed by youtube..probably because it featured black male nudes…worried about echos of slavery perhaps?
You said “He draws all kinds of male bodies [...] but a requirement he has in a model is that they have a flat belly.” You forgot to mention his other requirements: white and young. Although Felix d’Eon clearly has artistic talent, his taste in men is extremely limited, which is most likely a result of his training in “the classics” (i.e. Greco-Roman artistic traditions). I am disappointed to see that the Western ideal for male bodies still dominates homoerotic art several thousand years later.

Here in the United Kingdom we too have our own tensions regarding imigration…which is causing/contributing to a rise in support for more radical right wing neo-nationalist/fascist organisations…and we all know where that leads

You may be aware of the tensions between the US and Mexico right now. It’s refreshing to see a positive view of a Mexican who lives in the US. But, the rednecks wouldn’t like to know there’s such a talented gay Mexican within our borders.
For me, the more gay Mexican artists the better!
