Yes, Shawn Nichols Weatherly was exceptional at Miss Universe 1980. A stunning beauty indeed. She had it all which is why she is one of the few Miss USA’a to ever go on to become Miss Universe. You go girl!

When I saw the last two it was obvious who’s gonna win. Phillipines could be a challenge but Scotland is a housemaid.

Shawn Weatherly deserved to win, a very lovely, humble and beautiful queen. Of course Scotland was beautiful too and she did an excelent work. Also, Maritza Sayalero loos gorgeous and she treat very very lovely Shawn, like if they were bests friends from all live.
@concordesm2010 – My goodness, such wasted energy on negative emotions ~ especially over a beauty pageant that occurred in 1980. So, you thought Miss Scotland was heads above the rest of the competition. Unfortunately, you were not on the judging panel that night.

When Shawn won Miss USA, she had a very ugly teeth, her teeth were fixed to Miss Universe, but she always used to use her lips to cover her ugly teeth that when she has her new teeth, she still was using her lips to cover her teeth, but THEY WERE NEW TEETH., so, sometimes she did an strange movement whith her mouth.
They don’t judge contestants on what you think they do. They have fairly strict guidelines but not so strict that the judges have no leeway. That’s why there’s so much bloody-mindedness in these results. Either you have what the judges give points for that night, or you don’t. On that night, Miss USA had what they were looking for. She was a lovely young woman, and I have no problem with her getting it.
This really MAKES ME SICK. Corrupt bloody Americans. They weren’t satisfied with dominating the world politically, so they had to dominate things like Miss Universe as well. Not only was Miss Scotland MUCH more beautiful, but isn’t it funny how the US was the only country that had won 4 Miss Universe contests whereas the most any other country had won was 2? Doesn’t that tell you something? Worst part was I picked Miss Scotland from the beginning. It really broke my 13 year old heart.
