Miss Universe Tribute (Malaysia) 1962-2009
Miss Malaysia represents Malaysia in two of the major international pageants, Miss Universe and Miss World. The winners of the national pageants are selected at different competitions as each is owned by a different organization. Miss Universe is a beauty pageant run by the New York-based partnership between NBC and Donald Trump. Usually, the Miss Malaysia Universe pageant is held earlier to coincide with the Miss Universe pageant. Former titleholders of Miss Malaysia Universe includes Levy Li,Elaine Daly, Andrea Fonseka, Dato’ Anna Lin and the only Malaysian semi-finalist in the Miss Universe pageant Josephine Lena Wong in 1970. She is the mother of Miss Malaysia Universe 2004, Andrea Fonseka. The current title holder of Miss Malaysia Universe 2009/2010 is Joannabelle Ng Li Vun.

I think Malay girls are one heck of a gorgeous race. It’s too bad they were restricted by their religion that they were forbidden to take part in beauty pagents. The last Malay girl that took part was Miss Suzila Azrai and IMO she has the cut of being Miss Malaysia. I was so proud of her and cheered her on!
I have bf from Venezuela he been living here(Malaysia)almost 4 years. He normally watch Miss Universe and Miss world since his country always won the competition. He said Malaysian who participate for Miss World and Miss Universe just typical look that we can see around.He believe Malay and Indian have exotic and beautiful look compare Chinese which u can see around world of part. Since Malay unable to compete we should find Indian or mix parentage to compete.

i am not racist but i wonder why the winner of miss malaysia universe were no indians…i am so tired to see the NYONYA FACE represent for Malaysia because they are not beautiful,If they look like Andrea(now not 2004),Elaine daily,Joannebelle i think it’s good enough .This year i hope Nadine,Gail Or Mourna win the Miss malaysia Universe 2010 …the rest ” NYONYA FACE “

Do this really important? No matter you are Malay, Chinese, indian or other racists, as long as you are Malaysian, you have a right to represent Malaysia. But Malay not allow to join since 1997, never mind, support us.

malay girl not allowed to join all beauty pageant in Malaysia. every years mostly always chinese girls represent malaysia in international pageant.. i’m sure if malay girls is allowed to represent malaysia, we will see malaysian girl in the semifinalist or finalist..
