Radiohead – Nude – 4/2/98 (upgraded audio)

“Nude” performed live at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, San Francisco, April 2, 1998. This is a very beautiful old version of “Nude” – also known as “Big Ideas (Don’t Get Any)” – featuring the organ and glockenspiel. This song was not recorded for several years, and after a hiatus, was played again in a reinvented form on tour in 2006 and finally recorded for the 2007 album In Rainbows. Keep your eyes open for Jonny Greenwood playing two instruments at the same time! Don’t get any big ideas They’re not gonna happen You paint your house white and fill in the noise But there’ll be something missing Just when you’ve found it, it’s gone Just when you feel it, you don’t You’ve gone off the rails She kisses you with tongues and pulls you to the bed Don’t go, you’ll only want to come back again So don’t get any big ideas They’re not gonna happen You’ll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking Now that you’ve found it, it’s gone Now that you feel it, you don’t You’ve gone off the rails Many thanks to the tapers and to Wonsaponatime for making the upgrade.

the amount enthusiasm strikes me.
this is f****** history!
johnny says: “listen to mine glockenspiel! you will like!”
When i hear the organ i automaticaly think that they are about to play the Farther Ted theme tune.
what are u fucks talking about?,,,, toms solo album is awesome
to the anathema kid, it’s called an EP. would’ve been easier to say, keep it mind
@cheesecakedeath , its a slow burner, songs like cymbal rush, analyse and harrow down hill is great after a few listens
@NoCatStrangling yeah. exactly.
agreed thom yorke’s solo album was crap
No no no the pipe organ kicks ass
The “In Rainbows” version so much better. Its haunting, spare arrangement showcases Thom’s incredible voice and beautifully conveys the quiet despair of the lyrics
This version? It’s just too bouncy and busy to suit the lyrics. And that cheesy organ is intrusive–Thom’s voice gets drowned in all those overwrought flourishes. Johnny’s glock is pure genius on “All I Need”, but here it’s like an obnoxious toddler wailing on a toy xylophone.
i think that this song on the cd is one of the best songs in the world!!!!!!!
its just a huge masterpiece
@cynthiailly HTTT IS MY FAVORITE. To me it marks a turning point in the band’s ideology were their lyrics became more spiritual and introspective and not as dower and outrospective. Not to mention the sonic textures of HTTT are amazingly colorful/unbound and not as immaculately rigid like the majority of their post Ok Computer recordings.
By the way I do love In Rainbows it’s just Thom’s releases such as “Hearing Damage” and “The Hallow Earth” that have me concerned.
@downeykid555 radiohead is still coming up with great material. personally i think in rainbows is a much better album than hail to the thief.
you know, if they had put this version of the song on OK Computer, and nicked “Electioneering”…
that would be awesome.
AWWWWWWWW. The impact of the sweet instruments just kill me. I just sounded like a girl version of Holden Caulfield lol
Radiohead wrote all there songs in their youth. I doubt they will produce anything of Kid a, Amnesiac, or Hail to the Thief’s caliber again.
este es el mejor video y la mejor version de big ides ( nude)
this is the best video of big ides or nude tanks men
the end with johnny greenwood in the piano is amazing…truly amazing!!!
fucking love the glockenspiel
La canción que inspiró mi mail.
WAY better than in rainbows version. Plus Ed O’brien still had something to do!
i like this version better. it’s original and it’s about cheating.
To me the In Rainbows version has a completely different mood than this one, this version builds and swells, and Johnny’s Farfisa organ with the xylophone is just magical. This is by far one of my favorite Radiohead songs, especially this particular live version.
Rock that Glock, Jonny!
