Virginia told me she wanted to do a bikini shoot in January 2010 in Alaska. Think cold. Very cold, but we lucked out and shot on a lovely day with the temps at a balmy 20F.
We shot at a local park – 99% of the time the place is deserted except for some ice skaters and dog walkers but on the day we shot the Municipality organized an event so hundreds of people showed up – all bundled up in parkas – and they walked right past where we were shooting wondering what in the world we several bikini clad women doing hanging off of a rock wall – but this is Alaska so they just assumed we were nuts like most everyone else.
Virginia is one of my all-time favorite models – an absolute blast to shoot with – creative, no bones in her body, photogenic, friendly, adventurous, and she doesn’t seem to mind shooting with clueless Polish-Alaskan photographers – yes, life is good!
